In beginning of 1980s, some renery started to produce LPG locally in Myanmar and distributed to the people. In 1984 Mitsubishi Corporation has built LPG storage facilities and a jetty for Government near Than Lyin Renery on the bank of Yangon River located 5 miles apart from Yangon City. In 1990, Myanmar Government started to subsidize to the people with limited ration system.
